All staff are carefully screened to ensure they not only possess the required qualifications and experience but equally as important they possess the passion and energy to be a carer with Better Living Homecare.
When we are looking for new carers we are interested in attracting only those with the passion and confidence to make a difference in your life. We expect our carers to be compassionate, respectful and highly motivated to work in this important role. We want them to be prepared to go above and beyond to ensure you receive the quality of care you deserve.
All potential carers undertake a comprehensive induction program where they are personally interviewed, complete a competency test. Then, qualifications are confirmed and three references are requested and satisfied.
We ensure our carers are qualified, hold current first-aid and CPR certificates, police checks and working with children checks where necessary. We require our carers to attend regular mandatory training to ensure they have updated clinical and best practice knowledge Better Living Homecare is committed to ensuring that you have the most qualified carers in the industry.
To attract the best carers in the industry we offer attractive wages, great working conditions, don’t demand carers do shifts which they are not happy to do and seek to create a real team environment. In short, we look after them. They are sent birthday cards, newsletters, attend social functions and receive opportunities for personal development and ongoing training opportunities.
We are committed to taking the time to listen and ask questions so we know your individual needs and the best personality match with your carer. During planning, matching your care requirements with the most appropriate carer is a priority. This involves requiring your carer to have undertaken the necessary training and experience with the duties that need to be performed and also matching a carer who shares similar interests with a complementary personality.
